It was a hot day in Cambodia but that didn't stop me from taking pictures of the Angkor Heritage Site. Give me some sunblock and coconut juice and I'm good. Speaking of fruits, their fruits here are delicious! Well, except the bananas, they are tiny and sort of taste like feet. But at least now I know I don't have a feet fetish.
The first place that we visited was East Mebon. It was built by king Rajendravarman dedicated to the Hindu god of Shiva and honours the parents of the king. It is a small temple built that used to only be accessible by boats with materials such as sandstone and bricks.
We then visited Banteay Srei, which means "city of women". The building is made of red sandstone and contains various detailed sculptures describing legends and folktales. The middle of the temple lies the three towers to worship the three Hindu gods: God of destroy, God of create, and God of protect. The 3 towers is the icon in the middle of the Cambodian flag. Oh, and those little monsters sitting on the side was in Angelina Jolie's "Tomb Raider" that tried to kill her. Only in the movie, as in real life that thing would be Jennifer Aniston.
