Richard Robinson Grande Premiere 2011

IMG_0545_logo

Last month was the Montreal graduates at LaSalle Signature and this month it's Ottawa's turn. The Richard Robinson Grande Premiere 2011 was held over the weekend at Hilton Lac Leamy. While the show consisted new designers graduating from the fashion design academy this year, the graduates demonstrated high quality of work and innovative designs while showing off their own style on the runway. Below are some of my favourites.

Even though the show was a lot of fun, I did notice that there wasn't one Asian model AND they used a Hispanic for the Kimono and a blonde for the Chinese attire in History of Costume. There are more than 1 billion Chinese and they can't find one Asian girl? Not even half? A Hawaiian? An ethnically ambiguous girl to make Asian? If Snooki can pull off looking like a waitress at a Chinese Buffet I'm sure they could've came up with something.

Richard Robinson's Collection

Audrey Marquis

Stephanie St-Jacques

Stephanie Ross

Lidia Beausoleil

Yesha Raval

History of Costume

Here are some pictures of some of my favourite people who attended, including Helena in her hot Bebe dress and Angie from Angie's Models, Renee from Models International, designers Jana Hanzel, Emilia Torabi, Amber Watkins, and Stacey from Kania Couture, and Marcia B Creative. As well, who can forget the cute kids who walked Mr.Richard Robinson's runway show?!

  14. Oh wow, these are AMAZING. Canada represent? I think so. :) I think it's frustrating when you see things like that, no Chinese and you've got Chinese clothes? Come on. Clearly you can do better than that. We're in Canada, multicultural country, no? Talk about a fail in that respect.

  15. Nice event, but you're right it's a shame that there wasn't an asian girl in the show! Asian girls can be amazingly beautiful!

  19. Beautiful runway!
Thanks for the comment. It was nervous because of what I was flying towards but so worth it in the end. Flying per se is not a big thing for me, but I can understand how it might be for others.

    Kisses,

  28. I think there are almost as many ethnically ambiguous girls as there are asians (almost, well, not really, but there are a lot). It's kind of shocking that a show could ignore sush a large pool of talent.

Your hair looks great. It looked great before, but this is a nice color.

  29. The event looks awesome, and how cute are the little kiddies striding down the runway! ;)

Glad you had a good time despite their racially unbalanced show!
