If you ask my sister what friendship means, she will give you a verbally sentimental answer that is equivalent of petting a fluffy bunny and stuffing your brain with all sorts of with awws. But I, being materialistic and liking shiny things, will say "I made these friendship bracelets this weekend! aren't they pretty?!". So here I am, with my new bracelets... That I made this weekend! Aren't they pretty?!
Here Are The Steps
1. You will need some threads. Fold the thread so that one end is the length of your bracelet while the other end at least 6 times longer. Tie a knot.
2. Start knotting the shorter end with the longer end as shown in the picture until you get the ideal length.
Note: I made my thread only 2/3 of desired length as I wanted a portion to consist chains.
3. Knot the string once you are done. Attach a bail and cut off the remain.
4. Attach chain to the friendship bracelet.
Now make a few in different colors and attach some charms- we like charms, especially cute Swarovski ones.

This giveaway is international and will end on Feb 16th. Winner will be announced on twitter.
Good Luck!

Yay, I remember making these knotted bracelets as a child! We used to make some complicated ones too, where we tied loads of strings to chair legs and criss-crossed them... Not the chair legs obviously. LOL, I wish I remembered exactly! :)
ReplyDeleteNow I've written such a long comment I might as well enter your giveaway. :) @madelinequaint

Such a Pretty Bracelet ;-)
ReplyDeleteahah no need to enter me even though you know I stalk ur blog & twitter already anyway xD
ReplyDeleteI remember making these in HS and college actually - mine weren't very chic tho since I like bright (tacky) colors and never though of attaching the bail/chain at the end.
Speaking of DIY...I have been hunting high and low for the bicone beads you used in your other DIY bracelet post and arghhh....I can't find them anywhere! I don't really want to use the Swarovski bicones they are selling instores at michaels because...jeez, they're like $4 a strand and I want to make a triple layered one -__- Guess I'll just have to buy them online....
how i wished to have one of those esp made from you..they're really really gorgeous!! i don't have any twitter or bloglovin accnt dear hows that?... anyways i miss ur blogs so am just passing by!! ur looking good everyday :)

Hmmm, I wonder if I would have a better relationship with my sisters if I'd made them that bracelet instead of the colored macaroni on a string. Probably not--besides, I was 6! =)

I might try to make some though I'm really not a crafty person. Threads are easy enough to find, but where did you get the chains and swarovski? Wal-Mart? Michael's? Gonna have to hunt down some supplies to try my hand at these...
