DIY: Anthropologie Inspired Knotted Scarf Necklace
A while ago LoveK dropped off a bunch of her old scarves that she no longer loved. They sat in my closet for months until I saw the Strung Silk Necklace from Anthropologie and I loved it... Except I didn't want to spend $150 on it. So I made my own version out of LoveK's old scarves!
Here are the steps:
1. Gather some fabric.
2. Cut it in various widths, make sure that the length is long enough for your ideal necklace length.
3. Knot a few knots on each strand. Vary the length of the strands so you can layer the necklace.
4. Gather the end and hot glue it together. Wrap a piece of fabric to the end and knot it like below.
And you have your own super duper layered fabric necklace! Capiche?

This will be perfect for fall. I love the combination of colors and textures you chose for the necklace and like it so much better than the inspiration. I can see doing this with the right kinds of fabric also. I posted this on my blog - the top photo with a link back to your blog of course. Hope this is OK.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool DIY! I've seen similar knotted scarf/necklace ideas before, but I like the way yours incorporates different fabrics. Great idea!
