What's On My (Permanent) Beauty Shelf

On Monday I wandered through The Bay looking for a night time serum. I came across the Lancome counter with a 8 piece gift set promotion. On top of it, the Lancome Visionnaire - Advanced Skin Corrector came in a promotional box set in which with the High Resolution Moisturizer and the Eye Cream for $104. So I bought it, and chose the Bienfait Multi-Vital day moisturizer and Genifique serum as a part of my 8 piece gift set. I was SO happy that night, especially since I haven't shopped in months.

I also took some photos of my regular beauty products that I've been using religiously over the last year. Korres Quercetin & Oak serum and moisturizer has been my go-to for daytime wear for 2 years now. It's great for oily and "shiny" skin and it focuses on anti-aging. I find that I don't have to use so much blotting tissue when I have Korres on.

For night time I am still using the Shiseido White Lucent serum. The smell is great and it feels light for my skin. And some mornings when I wake up I do think that my skin looks brighter. It doesn't seem to do much for blemish scars though. The Shiseido Bio Performance Moisturizer is way too thick for my face, so I use it as a night time neck cream.

The Hope in a Jar moisturizer came in a set with the retinol cream and the cleanser. Unfortunately I've used up all of the retinol cream, as it was one of the few products that actually target at reducing blemish scars. Meanwhile I'm using the leftover moisturizer as a day time neck cream.

I was using my Dior toner for years but then one day I read the back of the label and realized that most toner are freakishly similar. So I started looking for cheaper alternatives and found Vichy toner. I love it!

As for my daily make up, I got the huge Miss Rose Shine Wet Eye Shadow palette because I thought I'd do some cool make up looks with it... But it has been a year and I haven't even touched 70% of those colors. But this palette is awesome in a way that it's so long lasting and with the Sheseido primer I can wear it the entire day without it creasing.

The 3 color NYX eyeshadow palette is for when I travel. I'm a big fan of NYX as some of the NYX's items is comparable to higher end brands such as their lipstick, eyeshadow and blush. You have to save some to splurge on others, right?

Lastly, my Dior make up bag. I love cosmetic promos especially when there's a {good looking} bag involved.

Anyway, this sums up my 2013 go-to skin care and cosmetics. What are some of your go-to skin care products?
