Peggy's Cove

Peggy's Cove was all sorts of oohs and ahhs on the drive there. The area is super pretty, and it also features that infamous light house- the one that is essentially in all of those free Canada calendars you get from the bank. "That light house looks like every other light house!" Ian commented. At first I thought he was just in a bad mood due to the number of the people that constantly got in the way of our pictures, but later when I got back to the Halifax harbor I pretty much saw 3 light houses that looks like the one on Peggy's Cove. I guess there are only so many ways to build and paint a light house.

I think the accomplishment of the day must have been to take the shots of the light house without any tourists in the way. There was always that one person that had to stand right in front of the building or sit somewhere obnoxious that made it impossible to crop out. Still, despite the hordes of tour buses, the village was east-coast adorable and I can never get tired of the smell of the ocean.

  11. That's definitely an accomplishment to get these shots without any of the tourists. I'm sure that was a bit frustrating. Love your dress by the way!

  14. Hahaha kudos to you guys for not capturing any tourists in your shots. It literally looks like you were the only person present at Peggy's Cove. I love that dress/cover-up thing you're wearing.
I regret not seeing more of Nova Scotia while I was living there. But to be fair, I lived there during the fall and winter, and it was cold AF. Your photos of the East Coast are gorgeous.

  15. Ahhh! So gorgeous dear! I absolutely loved the shots with you crossing the stone and lying on it, as well as the ones with the light houses! I've only ever seen and been to one in person when I was a child! I can't wait till I visit another one in the future!

  16. You always visit the most exciting places, Julie. I always love all your photos. Your photographer sure managed to crop out those extra people coz I don't really see them around. Yes, I suppose there's only so many ways to build a lighthouse. I've never seen a real lighthouse before and I would be intrigued and thrilled by the sight of one!

  17. Wow this looks so beautiful! I would love to go somewhere like this, it seems so relaxing. This is one of those places where you can go to get away from everything else and just enjoy the peacefulness of it all.
